Your story (seems: it is somewhat hazy) to coincide with what is said already. SDP+ development is still based on old Java versions. Next to the promises in announcements made to enhance the application further it seems to stall over and over again.
I’m wondering what their current development cycle even looks like. Are Agile practices being utilized within documented framework requirements? Are they utilizing unit testing, regression testing and code reviews within a cyclic software development process that handles code from requirements, development itself towards testing and deployment?
I doubt it.
The quality control itself should be build right into the development process. This is next to the fact the software is based upon a old Java framework. Every now and then every piece of software needs a major overhaul. Looks alone don’t cut it and don’t keep you on track with current Web technologies.
